Water marble attempt

Hello all.  It's been a little while since I posted and I apologize for that.  We have had so much going on at home and it's been a low priority to update anything.  After this coming week, hopefully things will work out to where I can get the shop open again.

In the meantime, I did have some time tonight to try something that I have been wanting to do for months: water marbling!  From the first time I saw a pic of it, I wanted to do it.  But I either didn't have time or I put it off because I was intimidated.  LOL.

Last night, I watched a ton of videos about the technique that Collette from My Simple Little Pleasures.  She is so good at it and has some fantastic video tutorials on her You Tube page.
After watching her and listening to her tips, I thought I'd give it a try.  And I am SO glad that I did.

This is the first time water marbling:
(the cleanup wasn't horrible but I needed to still
touch up after I took the pics.  And it's not perfect.  LOL)

For the marbling colors, I used China Glaze Liquid Leather, Starboard, and Grape Pop.  I wanted to do something maybe related to Halloween but I didn't want to use orange.  Well, to be honest, I don't really own any orange polish.  I hate orange.  With a passion.

I figured black, purple, and green were Halloween so this is what I used.

I was super happy with the results.  Cleanup aside, I think they turned out pretty well, especially considering it was my first time ever trying it.  And I only had to redo 2 nails.  My right ring finger didn't have much design... mainly an icky green all over.  And my right pointer got bumped and looked like roadkill.  But still, not bad.

What do you think?  Have you tried water marble nails before?

Look for an update about opening the shop again in the next week or so.

  1. You did a fantastic job, especially since it was your first try. My first (and only) water marble mani was uhhh...ugly. I'm going to watch the tutorials you mentioned and maybe, just maybe I'll try water marble again

    1. Thanks so much!

Definitely check out the videos. It seems that even what water you use can make a difference. LOL. Tap water, filtered, room temp, etc.

Don't give up! I love the way it looks and I feel proud that I did it.
